Standard Colorbond colours cost no more than the base price, and there is a wide range of them.

Special finishes are where the cost moves. The Timber Coat range, the Knotwood range and the Luxe Design Powdercoat range all add to the price of a standard Colorbond door, usually in the order of 10 to 20% depending on the size of the door.

Woodgrain and Timberlook sectional doors are the exception. They are priced in line with standard Colorbond, and at some sizes they come in slightly under it. Run both through the calculator and compare.

Taurean also offer premium finishes on the PR1ME Collection and NovaTaur range, including Colorbond, Matt Finish and Colorgrain.

Two doors the same size can sit at different prices. Higher ranges add increased security, longer warranties and heavier hardware. Entry level ranges cover the basics well and cost less.

If you are in a wind rated area the range is decided for you. Windlocked doors suit Region B, and Windstrong doors are Region C cyclone certified. Both cost more than a standard door because the curtain and the guides are built to take the load.

Our doors are made by Taurean Door Systems, built to a high standard for Australian conditions. Because of our relationship with Taurean we can price better than most local suppliers.

People shop this category by brand, so it is worth being straight about the differences.

Stratco sell doors through their own stores, usually to a set list of stock sizes. That works well if your opening matches one of them. Ours are made to your measurements, so an odd opening does not force you into the next size up.

Bunnings carry a limited range of smaller doors and openers off the shelf. Good for a shed door in a common size. Not the place for a double garage or a commercial opening.

B&D is a well known brand sold through a dealer network, and dealers quote supply and install as one figure. That makes the door price hard to see. We publish ours, and you can put your own measurements into the calculator above and get the number without speaking to anyone.

We do not publish other retailers’ prices, because they change and we would rather you compared them yourself. What we can tell you is the exact price of our door, delivered, in about a minute.

We have a network of garage door installers across Australia and can put you in touch with someone local. Labour to fit a supplied roller door usually runs $200 to $400, and a little more for a sectional. Regional rates are often lower than metro. The installer almost always takes the old door away as part of the job.

If you would rather do it yourself, every door ships with the hardware and instructions needed. Installation instructions are also published by Taurean.

Garage doors are made to order. Residential doors run about three weeks, and occasionally four in a busy period. Commercial doors run two to three weeks.

Remotes, openers and accessories are held in stock and despatched the same day when ordered before 1pm, with express post available at checkout.
